Adsorption rates were measured under dynamic sorption conditions for various adsorbents, adsorptives, inlet concentrationsand linear flow rates. The results were used to check different kinetic models potentially relevant for mathematical numericalprediction processes. The findings are discussed using the example of Chlorobenzene adsorption on activated carbon PICAF02. Two distinct uptake ranges could be recognised: (I) an initial, low uptake range, which follows an external fluid filmresistance relation and (ii) a high uptake domain, where the general relation (1-n/nnmax max) = A-exp(-B-t) applies, but no fits to thechecked kinetic models were found.
