In order to increase l capacity of carbon adsorbents, for removal of DMS, the adsorbent to be oxidized withimpregnated HNO3 and H2SO4. HNO3 impregnated and heat-treated at 150 ℃ increased markedly capacity of theremoval. Among the adsorbents, mesoporous carbons such as mesoporous activated carbon fiber and activated carbonexhibited excellent capacity. While micropore carbon with large surface failed to increase its capacity. Removalmechanism of oxidized carbons surface is discussed
