Supercritical water, due to its special properties, has been used as an efficient activating agent of carbonaceousmaterials. This work investigated the influence of the supercritical processing on the preparation of phenolicresin-based porous carbon microspheres with steam. Pore-evolution mechanisms were studied by using SEM andnitrogen adsorption isotherms at 77K.
