摘要

Cataract extraction & intraocular lens (IOL) implant surgery is the best method for visual rehabilitation for cataract patients at present. After the implantation of the most common used poly methyl - methacrylate (PMMA) IOL, it sometimes induces foreign body reaction and other complications in the eye. This may be related to its incompletely biocompatibility. In order to reduce the postoperative complication due to adverse reaction, we performed Carbon (C), Titanium (T), Carbon combined Nitrogen surface modification on PMMA IOL using the technique of carrier energy ion beam combined low temperature and low pressure plasma. We performed their biocompatibility studies in vitro and in vivo (rabbit eyes).
