Discussion on the Arrangement Modes of Inductive Pulsed Power Supply Based on Two HTSPPTs

Two arrangement modes of an inductive pulsed power supply based on two HTSPPTs are proposed and discussed in this paper. The double small HTSPPTs mode refers to two HTSPPTs being stacked axially for maximum mutual inductance. The single large HTSPPT mode refers to two HTSPPTs being reassembled into a large one. The former has a higher coupling coefficient, while the latter has advantages of simpler circuit structure, less wiring, and more importantly, less charging power supplies or full controlled electronic devices. The simulation results show that two similar pulse currents can be obtained when the capacitance of the single large HTSPPT mode is 1/8 of that of the double small HTSPPTs mode. However, the lower capacitance and coupling coefficient make the capacitor voltage of the single large HTSPPT mode being increased by about 3.63 times. The two arrangement modes are both feasible and can be applied to different experimental conditions.
