Considering the demand of information access for smart grid of power supply enterprise, the IEC 61970 standard provides a unified power system model for the information access of smart grid in the power supply enterprise. In this paper we first briefly described the IEC 61970 standard, CIM access mechanism and the REST architectural style and then analyzed the design criteria and advantages of the RESTful Web services. Finally, we proposed an information access method for smart grid of power supply enterprise based on REST and IEC 61970 and verified the feasibility of this method by programming the Restful Web services of substation information in the power supply enterprise.
