An Implementation of Quarter-Wave-Like Transformers Using Two-Section Transmission Lines

In this paper, a case study shows that QWLTs designed using PSLITs can provide the impedance matching ability similar to standard QWTs, but with significantly shorter electrical length. This interesting property of QWLTs opens up new possibilities for miniaturization of microwave circuits. In the future, several designs of QWLTs and potential applications of QWLTs, including miniaturized multi-section matching networks, miniaturized power dividers, and miniaturized directional couplers, will be considered as well.
