OVERCOMING THE BARRIERS OF INFORMATION TRANSFER - LOCAL AND GLOBAL INFORMATION NETWORKS: SUMMARY OF THE PANEL DISCUSSION

After a round of introductions by the panel members the discussion was started by Marjatta Okko who delineated several parameters in order to define the area of the topic.rnShe referred for instance to the fact that information is produced in various differing and changing environments. The types of information needed vary not only from environment to environment but also within each environment according to individual needs. Those responsible of transfer either work close to the producer environment, such as producers of secondary services, or they work in the user environment, which requires different thinking.
