摘要

Teachers have the pedagogic responsibility to design and administer appropriate activities which will help present factual information about the target culture to students. In order to become aware of the lifestyles of people in English-speaking countries the students need to learn what these people do and say in situations which are part of normal everyday experience. Pedagogy, culture, cross cultural communication and cultural instruction with itspsila goals are introduced in this paper, which illustrated that an inseparable element of the sociolinguistic approach to language learning is culture. A language cannot be taught without coming to grips with its cultural content.
