A dedicated frequency-hopping noncoherent binary frequency shiftnkeying (BFSK) spread-spectrum multiple-access communication system isnproposed for portable mobile communication application. Address designnuseful for 4096 subscribers with minimum cochannel interference has beenncarried out with an extended prime number algorithm. Thenfrequency-hopped (FH) spread-spectrum signal with BFSK is generated withnthe help of a numerically controlled synthesizer in the transmitter. Thenreceiver consists of another synthesizer with a preassigned FH code thatncan be acquired and tracked by serial search technique when thentransmitted signal is receiver. The system occupies a conventionalntransponder bandwidth of 36 MHz. On computer simulation it is observednthat performance of the system is better than Pe=10n-3 for 256 simultaneously active subscribers
