Comparisons between several adaptive sampling and modeling schemes are presented to model the input impedance as well as radiation patterns of a quad-ridge flared horn antenna. This class of antennas operate over wide bandwidths as reflector feeds, and an accurate model of the radiation pattern over frequency is required during the design and analysis phase. It is shown that rational function interpolation, with adaptive frequency sampling trained purely on the input impedance, can provide rapidly converging models, which are straightforward to implement.
