The aim of this paper is to present a topology for variable frequency speed regulation system, which consists on a back-to-back (BTB) converter and DC-link small film capacitor. The DC-link voltage cannot be well controlled by the classical internal DC voltage control loop because of lacking the big electrolytic capacitor. There would be a strong power coupling between the rectifier and the inverter side. Integrate-power-control-strategy (IPCS) is proposed for realizing the synchronous control of the rectifier and inverter side power, which can overcome the power coupling between the rectifier and the inverter side. High transmission efficiency maintains the power balance of the rectifier and inverter and reduces the DC bus voltage ripple. The proposed IPCS realize the high power-factor (PF) and low total harmonic distortion (THD) of DC-link current. Simulations and experimental results are given to provide further validation of the proposed IPCS under different operating scenarios.
