摘要

In this paper a novel defected ground structure CPW Microstrip antenna is designed for dual band applications. The proposed planner monopole antenna consists of a square-shape radiating patch etched with a 3-shaped slot and a ground plane with tapered step, which is designed to enhance band width 0.42 GHz at 4.53GHz resonant frequency and 2.87GHz at 6.88GHz resonant frequency, it provides -23.87dB and -44.88dB at respective resonant frequencies. The proposed design printed on FR4 epoxy substrate of dielectric constant 4.4 with dimensions of 12mm × 18mm × 1.6 mm. The proposed model exhibits good characteristics in the wireless communication with gain, Directivity, VSWR and efficiency.
