Secret sharing is a means of data protection by splitting it into few noise-like shares. However, transmission of shares (digital information), through radio mobile channel, experience the multipath effect called the fading effect that sometimes leads to severe degradation in the quality of the reconstructed data. This paper proposes a strong threshold (n, n) secret image sharing scheme based on prediction error methodology. The reduced size shares (1th/n), generated in this scheme, are compact for storage, transmission or subsequent integration with data hiding. Extensive simulation results are shown to validate the efficacy of the proposed method on the recognizability of the reconstructed data. Performance of the proposed scheme is also tested using simulation on Rayleigh-fading wireless channel and is compared with the few recent schemes.
