Automated platform for recording high quality short Scientific Videos

Videos are becoming the preferred form of online content. A rich multimedia format can help scientists disseminate their work and better engage online audiences. However, current recording platforms to produce high quality videos are cost and resource intensive. Here, we present an automated recording platform that balances cost, mobility, and quality. The Scientific Video Lab launched the automated registration, video recording, and video peer-review platform at the 2016 American Chemical Society National Meeting in San Diego. Selected oral presenters were invited to use the automated video recording platform with over 50 recordings completed. Based in the survey result, 98% of the respondents said the automated recording booth is simple or very simple to use, while 95% said they were satisfied or very satisfied with their experience.
