This paper proposes an energy management framework for a distribution system comprising of multiple cooperative microgrids. The energy management framework aims at reducing the energy cost of the microgrids by minimizing the grid purchases which comprises of conventional generation. The intermittencies associated with renewable energy based-energy sources are modelled in the proposed framework through scenarios. Within this stochastic framework, a power exchange model is embedded that allows local power exchanges between neighboring microgrids, with the objective of optimally alleviating the distribution power losses. Extensive numerical results are shown to corroborate the effectiveness of the proposed framework.
