The 南船紀 Nanchuan Ji of 1542 AD, refers to a ship of千料船 ‘1,000-liao料’ which was based on the 海運船 Hǎiyùn ch`uan ‘Grain Transport ship’ of the Yuan dynasty大元 (1271-1368年), also built in large numbers during the Ming明朝 (1368-1644年); and technically characterized by the ‘Sha ch’uan沙船 Pechili Trader type-specimen’.rnMany of the innovative Naval Architecture Bulk Carrier technologies developed by the pre-modern China Shipwright造船工人 for the ‘Safe Carriage of Grain in Bulk at Sea’, began to be coherently emulated by ‘western’ maritime nations from c.1791, and only effectively Regulated with the mandatory implementation of the IMO ‘International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes Code’ (IMSBC Code) 01 January 2011.rnThis original research identifies the extant historical Database, and addresses a limited selection of specific Naval Architecture characteristics of pre-modern China historic ‘Dry Bulk Carrier’ Technology.
