This work presents a parallel version of a complex numerical algorithm to solve a lubriction problem studied in Tribology. The execution of the sequential algorithm on a workstatio requires a huge amount of CPU time nad memory resources. So, in order to reduce the computational cost, we have applied parallelization tehniques to the most costly parts of the original source code. SOme blocks ofthe sequential ocde were also redesigned for the execution on a multiprocessor. In this paper we describe our parallel version and we also present some results that illustrate its efficiency in terms of execution time.
