Residence time distribution of particles in rotary kilns

摘要

A theory of particle motion in rotary kilns gives dimensionless groups relating particle inventory and residence time with throughput, in good agreement with experiments here described and with published data. Tracer experiments gave particle residence time distributions (RTDs) consistent with simple theory. A working formula for standard deviation of RTD is derived.
