The Static Experiment Critical Facility, STACY is a solution type critical assembly to accumulate fundamental criticality data on uranyl ntrate solution, plutonium nitrate solution and their mixture in order to verify calculation codes for criticality safety. A series of critical experiments using low enriched uranyl nitrate solution have started including the function test for approval of licensing. This paper describes the contents of the reactor physics tests including initial criticality experiments. Some criticality calculation were performed for the measured criticality configuration using typical criticality safety codes employed in Japan.
