Nuclear Material Technology Support For Fernald Site Closure

For nearly four years, the Nuclear Materials Focus Area (NMFA) and the FernaldrnEnvironmental Management Project (FEMP) have worked together to develop and deployrntechnologies to enable expeditious disposition of the large inventories of nuclear materials at thernFernald site. Technologies developed under this partnership have already proved enabling inrnaddressing some of the more problematic nuclear materials at the site. Technologies currentlyrnunder development will be deployed in the near future to address other problematic materials. Therngoal of the FEMP/NMFA partnership is to successfully remove all nuclear materials from thernFernald Site as a key element of site closure.
