This paper presents the development and implementationrnof an approach based on performance assessment tornsystematize the procedure for deriving radionuclide concentrationrnlimits in a near-surface disposal facility in Korea.rnSystematic procedure is developed in consistence with internationalrnrecommendations on the structure and content ofrnperformance assessments. Main four steps consisted of assessmentrncontext, scenario selection, assessment, and determinationrnare set up and considerations within each steprnare identified. The developed approach is implemented tornquantitatively derive waste concentration limits from sixrnreference human intrusion scenarios for a conceptually designedrnconcrete vault type disposal facility.
