摘要

Results of numerical simulation and experimental studies on a relativistic Ceronkov generator with coaxial slow wave structure (SWS) are presented. The numerical simulation results indicate that the device is featured by the characteristic of a resonator, the microwave frequency spectrum illustrates high purity and the dominant frequency remains fairly constant over a wide range of diode voltage, and the power conversion efficiency is slightly sensitive to the parameters of SWS. The device is optimized and an efficiency of more than 37% is obtained. In preliminary experiment carried out at 7.7 GHz, the power level of 1.3 GW and efficiency of 28% was measured.
