A study on treatment of industrial wastewater tailrace has been done by constructed rapid infiltration system. The results show that under the wed/d ratio of 1:2-1:6, hydraulic loading of 1 -2.5 m/d and hydraulic loading cycle of 6-36 h, the removal rate for CODCr is between 30% and 55% and the removal rate for TN is between 10% and 40%. It is beneficial to remove CODCr by increasing hydraulic loading, reducing wed/d ratio and shortening hydraulic loading cycle appropriately. Meanwhile, the removal rate of TN can be raised by reducing wed/d ratio, decreasing hydraulic loading, increasing hydraulic loading cycle and improving C/N ratio.
