This paper reviews the major steps in the successful effort in reaching Level 3rnmaturity at Raytheon Falls Church, against the EIA/IS-731 Systems Engineering CapabilityrnModel. This effort was conducted at the same time as other improvement efforts at RaytheonrnFalls Church, adding to the complexity of the task while providing the opportunity for synergy asrnwell. Key elements associated with process improvement are discussed, including changernmanagement activities and their relation to other models for improvement. Finally, thesernelements are evaluated for application to other process improvement efforts in a multi-modelrnenvironment, such as the use of CMMI? and Lean or Six Sigma.
