摘要

Harmonics is harmful to electrical power system and electrical equipments. Wavelet transform is a powerful mathematics tools for harmonic analysis. The analysis that based on multi-resolution analysis is able to decompose voltage signals or current signals to fundamental wave and harmonic waves. In this paper, detection and analysis of real time harmonic current in power system by means of wavelet transform is introduced, and the physical meaning and characteristics of wavelet transform are described in details. Simulation results under the environment of Matlab show that, by means of wavelet transform, total harmonic current can be detected real-timely, and the dynamic performance of real time detection meets the demands of the operation of active power filter. The conclusion is that wavelet transform is a suitable tool for harmonic detection and is promising in the field of harmonic suppression.
