The slurry backfill technology has been successfully used in potash mines since 1908. The presentation summarises the results of several investigations on slurry backfill in German potash mining during the last 40 years. The positive effect of subsequent slurry backfill on the reduction of dangerous rock movements and surface subsidence is shown with examples.
