The overall design of the monitoring and alarming system for underground gas pipe leakage is introduced, and its block diagram is given. The design principles of the data collector in the base station and the field measuring subsystem are described in detail. The design of the system management software is presented. Each base station can be connected with 64 field measuring subsystems, and the data communication between base station and field subsystems is implemented by signal carrier technology with DC power supply. The system can detect the real-time fuel gas concentration at the specified point in underground pipe net and transmit it to the monitor center in Natural Gas Supply Company. So the system can promote the centralized monitoring and control for the urban underground gas pipe leakage.
