Electromechanical watt-hour meter is the most popular measurement instrument in measuring electric power, which has been widely used in every link of power generation, supply and consumption, but it can't prevent power stealing effectively and it has several problems such as bad stability, low measurement accuracy, poor safety and high power consumption. In order to enhance accuracy of power metering, effectively use power and prevent power stealing, this paper presents the design of single phase electronic anti-steal watt-hour meter. Hardware of the meter uses the energy metering IC AD7751 as the measurement chip, single-chip MCS-51 as the control and data processing chip with appropriate interface circuits. Software program is written in assembly language of MCS-89C51 single-chip. Principle frame of hardware and control flow chart of main program is designed in this paper. This meter can measure electric power accurately and display the measurement results, judge and process stealing situation and record time and number of stealing. The results of experiment showed that this meter has the following features: good safety, high measurement accuracy, low power loss, running stable, anti-stealing function and so on.
