Explosion vessels with opening are used to temporarily deal with explosive hazardous articles. This article studied the opening area of explosion vessels through building finite element models, and analyzed attenuation characteristics of blast wave. Using the method of numerical simulation, the influence of opening area and direction of explosion vessels to blast wave transmitting was acquired. Adjusting the opening area can control the flow field and pressure of peak value. It offered theoretical basis for design of explosion vessels with opening.
