On-line monitoring of drilling cuttings transport using electrical resistance tomography

This paper describes a dual-plane Electrical Resistance Tomography (ERT) system for measuring the local solids volume fraction distribution and the local solids axial velocity distribution in a plante normal to the axis of verytically upward solids-water flows.The paper also describes a local.intrusive conductiviyt probe for providing reference measruements of the distributions obtained using the ERT system.Results obtianed using both the ERT system and the local probe are presented.
