An x-ray scatter technique for oil/water discrimination

摘要

An X-ray technique for measruing oil/water ratios is presented.the technique exploits the fact that amorphous mateials exhibit charactgeristic X-ray diffraction,ariing from coherent photon scatter.The intensity of the diffraction patterns produced gives an indication fo hte component fractions of mixtures amorphous substances such as oil-water emulsions.CdZnTe detectors are sued to record the scattered and transmitted spectra from kerosene-water mistures ranging from 100
