Towards a semantic event service for distributed active database aplciatiosn

摘要

This paper proposes an approach to building event serices fo active database applciations.It introduces dimensios to charactierize distributed event definition,production and notification.The core f our approahc is a parameteric event service clalled QUETZAL that has three intefaces,each fo them implementing the given dimensions as parameters.Therefore,each of them implementing the given dimensions as parameters.therefore,each of them implementing the given dimensios as parameters.Therefore,different event (detection) models may be defined simply by giving values to these parameters.Such an approach provides flexible definiiton,deteciton,prductio and notification fo events according to appciaton needs.Since our service is bsed on a consumer-producer principle,it cna be comibiend with any producer and consumer,facilitaitng in this way communcation and collaboration between distributed compnents such as classicla applciatins,database transactions,primitive event detectors or event notification tools.
