A workflow system based on agents

摘要

This paper describes an agent based artchitecture to manage workflows.The agents,rather than predefine rules,determine the flow of work,enabling them to cater for unexpected inputs.The agents in this distriubted systems use organisatinal reles,as wel as the state of the decision making environment to control the flow of work.An experiemtnla agent-based workflow system based on the World Wide Web to manage the processing of applicatins received by a university department from potential research students is described.
