An effort is made to determine how line flow changes affect thenrobustness of the power system using the energy margin sensitivities tonpower generation shifts and power flow distribution factors. A method tonobtain stability constrained line flow limits is proposed. The majorndifference between this research work and other research in transientnenergy function sensitivity techniques for line flow limits is that thisnresearch allows for line flow changes caused by unspecified machines.nPrevious research dealt with line flow limits due to a generation shiftnat a single specified machine. However, it is possible that a generationnshift at another machine or combination of machines may consume thenenergy margin less quickly and thus result in large stabilitynconstrained transaction capability
