Pulse Electrochemical Finishing of Hardened Gear with Shaped Cathode

Surface finishing can improve gear's surface quality, and consequently increase its performance and lifetime. The practical results indicate that gear finishing can improve lifetime to a large extent, also can reduce noise to a large extent. This paper introduces a kind of pulse electrochemical finishing technique of hardened gear with a shaped cathode. Several feasible finishing projects are designed. The experimental results shows that pulse electrochemical finishing technology can not only resolve the problem of hardened tooth finishing, but also improve productivity and low cost remarkably.
