Workshop Design brief: Realising a Vision – Architectural Competition for a Pavilion for Expo2020 Dubai

The world exhibition "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future" will take place in Dubai in 2020. Forrnthe Swiss pavilion, an architectural competition was launched, and the real competition projectrnwill be used within the workshop. The workshop focuses on the collaboration between thernstructural engineer and the architect. Since such a collaboration is not possible within thernframework of the workshop, a project was selected which, through the very clear concept of thernbuilding form, enables the engineer alone to develop different bearing structures and to alignrnthese with the architectural design. The aim is to gain an understanding of a given geometry andrnuse and the creative design process for the development of a convincing supporting structure.
