Making watershed manageemnt work for the national pollutant discharge elimination system

摘要

The clean Water Act and its implementing regulations attempt to control urban wastewater flows (continuous flows from publicly owned treatment works and intermittent wet weather flows such as storm water form municipal separate storm sewer systems,storm water form industrial soruces,combined sewer overflows or CSOs,and sanitary sewer overflows or SSOs) by regulating them as separate "point sources" of pollution under the National Pollutant Discharge elimination System (NPDES).
