A STUDY ON GEOMETRIC FEATURE RECOGNITION OF FREE FORM SURFACE PRODUCT

摘要

This paper proposes a system to recognize the geometric feature of free form surface product. The proposed system consists of the following four steps: conversion and preprocessing of the product data, surface orientation region subdivision, surface orientation area generation, and geometric feature recognition. The algorithms regarding surface orientation region subdivision, surface orientation area generation, and geometric feature recognition have been designed and developed. The feasibility of the proposed system has been verified and tested against various actual dies and molds from the industry.
