Power Quality and Reliability of Offshore Wind Farms in Ireland

摘要

This paper gives a general overview of potential power quality and reliability problems associated with offshore wind farms. A brief overview is given of the development of WECS technologies leading to the current developments in offshore wind farms. Power quality and reliability is investigated for single wind turbines and then an analysis of possible problems with the connection of an offshore wind farm with a large number of DFIG's.
