Practical experience with an applciation extractor for java

摘要

Java programs are routinely transmitted over low-bandwidth network conncetions as ocmpressed class file archives (i.e.,zip files and jar files).Since archive size is directly proportional to download time,it is desirble for aplciatiosn to be as small as possible.This paper is ocncerned with the use of program transformations ushc as removal of dead methods and fileds,inlining o mehtod calls,and ismplification of the class hierarchy for reducing applciation size.
