Effect of unsymmetrical faults on distribution lines with different line X/R ratios and voltage restoration using DVR with Space vector control

摘要

Very often in distribution systems many small loads of the order of 100KVA or less are fed from same feeder. A fault at one load drastically affects the loads even at far end. Here the effect of L-G and L-L faults followed by an Open conductor fault (fuse blow off in one phase) at the remote load point is presented for different feeder X/R ratios. The restoration of supply voltages using a DVR (with Space vector control) at the desired load point is studied.
