摘要

A motion-capture system using video cameras can recordrnhuman motion by measuring the position of markers attachedrnon a human subject, and enables to reconstruct humanrnmotion on a computer. However, the capable informationrnis basically limited to the positional data, such as handrnposition, limb’s posture, and so on. If the force data relatedrnto human movements could accurately measure fromrnthe video data as well as the positional data, it would bernmuch useful to analyze human behaviors and to constructrna more realistic virtual reality. The present paper proposesrna vision-based estimation method of the applied force fromrna human to deformable objects without a force sensor. Thernproposed method is simple but can estimate the appliedrnforce accurately by means of the mechanical propertiesrnof deformed object corresponding to its deformation form.rnThe preliminary test using a soccer ball is carried out torndemonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
