Implementation and performance of the interprocess communicationsfacility in RHODOS

The paper examines the implementation and performance of thenRHODOS interprocess communications facility. This examination includes;nthe Local IPC module provided by the microkernel and the primitives andnmechanisms that it supports, the Interprocess Communications Manager,n(IPCM), and the Network Manager, in particular the remote and localninterprocess communications performance. Furthermore we discuss the rolenof the message buffers in the interprocess communications facility andntheir effect on communications throughput
