摘要

The impinging of liquid drops on solid surfaces is a feature of many processes in industry (e.g. spray cooling, spray coating, material erosion) and in nature (e.g. impingement of rain dorps, soil erosion). Provided the impact velocity is not so great that the drop will splash, spreading occurs in the form of a thin film which jets laterally away from the point of impact. Typically, the spreading film reaches a miaximum radius before shrinking under the influence of surface tension.
