Automated and semi-automated procedures in the assessment of Coronary Arterial Disease by Computed Tomography

摘要

The aim of this paper is to explain the flow of procedures to quantify the Coronary Arterial Disease (CAD), and the mean differences to the clinical results when automated or semi-automated method is used. Will be described the disease concerning its epidemiology, imaging, the risk factors and prognosis. The software steps as well as the values that allow predicting the risk to develop CAD will be presented. Due the ionizing radiation damage, one experience with pig hearts was developed and used to demonstrate advantages and disadvantages of the Agatston method applying two different protocols in Multidetectors CT scan and its post processing concerning the operator-dependent variable.
