STUDY ON STRENGTH AND ANTI-LOOSENING CHARACTERISTICS OF LOCKING NUT WITH WEDGING THREAD

摘要

In this paper, an experimental study is carried out on strength and anti-toosening characteris-tics of locking nut with wedging thread. The test results show that ultimate tensile load of the nut goes beyond that corresponding to the grade 6 nut and the strength of connection is secure. Under dynamic load, it makes the amplitude of tensile stress in bolt reduce and is advantageous to improve the fatigue strength of the bolt. It's antiloosening ability is higher than that of common nut, but lower than or close to that of common nut with spring washer. When used in the case of light load or light impact, it's one kind of simple and effective anti-loosening device.
