Nano-PtZrO2/C catalyst was prepared and characterized by TEM and XRD. The electrochemical activity of PtZrO2/C catalyst for ethanol oxidation was investigated by using cyclic voltammetry (CV),electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and CO stripping in acidic solutions and compared with Pt/C (20 wt. % E-TEK). All the results showed that PtZrO2/C had higher catalytic activity for ethanol electro-oxidation and it provided foundation for the investigation of Direct Ethanol Fuel Cells.
