Abstract: ose a new system which recognizes the printed music score more correctly in less time than the conventional systems. The most remarkable characteristic of this system is that it uses the non-template-matching method as much as possible, and as a result, decreases the use of the template-matching process. The non-template-matching method is the way that simple parts of symbols are recognized and reconstructed, and then they are recognized as musical notes. By this method, the number of templates for recognition can be much reduced. !4
