摘要

Based on Thorn's elliptic umbilical singularity, we design pivotal phase-only masks to generate accelerating regular polygon beams. By using the diffractive phase grey-scale map written onto a spatial light modulator, we experimentally obtain optical regular accelerating triple-cusp beams and quinary-cusp beams. Their optical propagation characteristics are investigated subsequently. It will provide useful information for their future potential applications.
